Bios update for HMC models 7042-CR5
All HMC models 7042-CR5 should be updated to at least this BIOS level before upgrading the HMC to V7R7.3 or greater.

Follow these steps to update the current BIOS revision level on your HMC.
Create an ISO image on CD
- Download the D6E148B.ISO to your Windows PC.
- Place a CD into your Windows PC CD/DVD drive.
- Burn the image as an ISO image to CD.
Update the BIOS
$The BIOS update procedure contains several steps.
- Find and record the machine type and model (MTM) number of your HMC as follows:
Check the label on the front of the HMC.
Run the lshmc -v | grep TM command.
The MTM should be 7042-CR5
NOTE: If the MTM is not 7042-CR5 it will be updated during the update automatically.
- Place the bootable CDROM you created in the HMC CD/DVD drive, and then reboot the HMC.
If the CDROM does not boot to the BIOS menu, you may need to alter the HMC's startup device list press F12 for Select Boot Device and then boot from the CD/DVD drive.
The system should boot to a screen that has the following menu and 2 options:
This program will:
-change the Machine Type/Model of the system
-flash IMM code.
-flash the uEFI code.
-apply changes to the uEFI to set HMC defaults
-flash Diagnostic (DSA) code.
Type 1 then Enter to flash uEFI, IMM. and change the Machine Type/Model.
Type 3 then Enter to exit to the command line. - Select option 1 and hit enter. The IMM, uEFI and DSA will be flashed. Answer "Y" when prompted to continue with the update during the IMM and uEFI flash. Do not power off the HMC until the updates are completed.
- After the uEFI, IMM and DSA have updated, the screen displays "Updates completed. Please Reboot". Remove the CD-ROM, and then reboot the HMC.
- Verify updates as follows:
- Press F1 during bootup, and then select System Information -> Product Data. The levels below should be shown.
UEFI: v1.08 (D6E148B)
IMM: v1.14 (YUOO73M)
Diag: 3.01.60 (DSYT60K) - Run lshmc -b from the HMC CLI. The command output should return "bios=D6E148B-1.08"
- Press F1 during bootup, and then select System Information -> Product Data. The levels below should be shown.
The uEFI update is complete.
