Upgrading from HMC V6.1.2 or higher HMC V6 is a two-step process. You must first upgrade via Recovery media to HMC V7 R3.1.0 or HMC V7 R3.2.0 before you can upgrade to HMC V7 R3.3.0.

310_048 through 310_xxx Firmware at the 310 level is the supported firmware level for HMC 7.3.1.0. If you upgrade your firmware to any 320 release, you must upgrade your HMC to V7 R3.2.0.

Order Recovery media from Software Support

Follow the instructions for the Machine Type of your HMC.

For Machine Type 7310 and 7042

To order a replacement or additional copy of the HMC Recovery DVD package, contact your Software Support organization and request PTF number MH00998 (HMC Recovery DVDs V7 R3.1.0). The HMC DVDs V7 R3.1.0 cannot be ordered from the IBM Software Distribution and Fulfillment Center.

For Machine Type 7310 as an upgrade to support the POWER5 or POWER6 systems

Contact your IBM Sales Representative or Business Partner, and order Hardware Feature Code 0962 for the HMC Recovery DVD V7 R3.1.0 set.

If this feature, 0962, has already been installed in your machine and an additional copy of the Recovery DVD set is required, then you can order it by contacting your Software Support organization and requesting PTF MH00998 (HMC Recovery DVDs V7 R3.1.0). You can also order the DVDs from this page. You cannot order feature 0962 from the IBM Software Distribution and Fulfillment Center.

Machine Type 7315 supporting POWER6 systems is not a supported option or configuration

Order Recovery media from Software Support

Follow the instructions for the Machine Type of your HMC.

For Machine Type 7310 and 7042

To order a replacement or additional copy of the HMC Recovery DVD package, contact your Software Support organization and request PTF number MH01059 (HMC Recovery DVDs V7 R3.2.0). The HMC DVDs V7 R3.2.0 cannot be ordered from the IBM Software Distribution and Fulfillment Center.

For Machine Type 7310 as an upgrade to support the POWER5 or POWER6 systems

Contact your IBM Sales Representative or Business Partner, and order Hardware Feature Code 0962 for the HMC Recovery DVD V7 R3.2.0 set.
